About Me

Allow me to introduce you to David Akolades, a passionate computer engineer, music producer, and production manager whose journey in the world of sound and performance is nothing short of inspiring. David began his adventure at the age of 24, touring the United States and gracing venues that range from small churches to grand arenas and stadiums. His impressive audio production skills have allowed him to mix for a diverse lineup of artists, including the legendary Tevin Campbell and the vibrant King Sunny Ade.

David's fascination with the technical side of music production began early in life. Inspired by watching his father work with technology, he started connecting keyboards to computers and even built his first computer at just 10 years old. This early spark led him to an internship at Clear Air Studios with Brian Bolton, where he immersed himself in the world of studio engineering, recording, and mixing.

But David's talents don't stop at music production. He has also made his mark in video work for the Chicago Bears and served as Juice World's first production manager. His expertise has taken him to the Front of House (FOH) and In-Ear Monitors (IEMs) for an array of remarkable talents, including Joe, Marsha Ambrosius, and international sensations like Victony and CKay.

As the son of Nigerian immigrants born in Chicago, David's love for music was ignited in the church, where he first experienced the magic of performance. His journey began by setting up the children’s church for John Hannah, which deepened his desire to understand stage production. Over the years, he gained valuable experience packing trucks for Ernie Green and Sound of Authority and was eventually hired by Crandall Bailey and Handz-R-Us. His first tour opportunity came thanks to the generous support of Carl Schaap.

David is also a multi-instrumentalist and a lifelong learner, always striving to hone his craft and deepen his connection to the music he loves. He’s excited to continue this journey and bring world-class production to every stage he touches.
